Ministries
We at SCM recognize the church is a holy community that grows in love for God and neighbor. We are focused on making disciples of Jesus Christ who worship passionately, love extravagantly, and witness boldly. We seek to encourage and foster discipleship, growing alongside one another through the power of the Holy Spirit to deepen our understanding of the love and grace of God and the gospel of Jesus Christ. Using traditional Christian and sound Biblical teaching, we study God’s Word, promote and support small groups, provide opportunities for fellowship and service, and welcome one another in unity and love in order that we would increasingly embody the character of Christ in our everyday lives.
Circle of Love
Circle of Love is our Women’s Fellowship & Missions group. Our membership is open to all women of our church and community. We believe in providing a supportive fellowship where women can grow spiritually and engage in missions.
Bible Studies
We offer several Bible studies throughout the year. Check in with the Church Office for the the current series.
Community Outreach
Easter Sunrise Service – Each year at sunrise on Easter Sunday, SCM holds a worship service at Veteran’s Park open to the community, followed by breakfast in our Family Life Center. Anyone in the community is welcome to come and experience this joyful celebration of our Risen Lord!
Vacation Bible School – Every year in June, SCM holds Vacation Bible School, where children are taught and shown the love of Christ through a different theme each year. All are welcome! See the Children’s Ministries page for more information.
Fall Festival with Trunk ‘N Treat – SCM hosts a Fall Festival every year on the last weekend of October, for the entire community. Children can play games and earn tickets to redeem for prizes, get their picture taken with a Halloween theme, and enjoy a meal and snacks all in a safe and wholesome environment. The festival culminates in the Trunk ‘N Treat event, where children receive candy and the whole family can enjoy the fun and fellowship. All are welcome!
Facility Use – The Family Life Center is open Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 12 PM for walking. This is a great place to walk in a climate-controlled area. We welcome all people of the community.
Music
Music is a significant part of the ministry and worship of our Church. Through music we communicate our love and understanding of Christian faith and are motivated to a keener sense of celebration and devotion. Using our talents, we glorify God and praise His holy name.
Chancel Choir – Through special music, the choir enables our congregation to connect both heart and mind with the Spirit of the Living God in Sunday morning worship and on special occasions throughout the Christian year. Chancel Choir practices Wednesdays at 6:00 PM.
Praise Band – Through contemporary music, the praise band enables our congregation to connect both heart and mind with the Spirit of the Living God in Sunday morning worship.
Christmas Cantata – Each December our choir invites you to experience the story of Christ’s Nativity through chorale arrangements and narration. Come enjoy this unique and moving way to celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior! The cantata is presented during Sunday morning worship, as well as an afternoon performance for the community. Cantata practice begins in September each year on Sunday evenings.
Facility Rentals
We also offers the use of our buildings as a community service to be used as a meeting place for non-profit organizations or individuals wishing to use our facilities. Sharing our building is important to us. Use of our facilities can be arranged through the Church Office with the sponsorship of a church member. For more information contact us.
Young Adult Ministries
Campus Ministries – Our college students are important to us, and our Campus Ministry reaches out to them while they are away. Cards, letters, and care packages are sent each month to show them how much we miss them and that the love of Jesus and of our church goes with them wherever they go. If you would like to donate time or materials to this ministry, please contact the Church Office.
